Tunning PgSQL

This is not so hard because there is tool available to do so thnx to “Greg Smith”.
Name of tool is “pgtune“

Since Diff. machine has Diff. H.W. Profile you need to have Diff. configuration for diff. machine.
Which make available most H.W. Resources during run time.

I usually tune up using following map.

• Run pgtune and create base of postgres configuration.
• Enable Query Monitoring on System.
• Use PQA / pgfouine / EPQA / Pgsi to analys log.
• Also look in to the checkpoint
